The piece, in detail.

How this piece is actually built.
The jacket is tailored first, as a jacket should be: canvassed fronts, set sleeves, a clean roll to the lapel. Then the back panel goes under the needle. The koi and lotus are thread-painted directly onto the panel, shade by shade, before assembly, so the image flows across seams instead of breaking at them. The buttons are set last.
What it costs, stated plainly.
The same bench, your version.
Commission it in the original teal, or re-color the ground and the motif to your palette. The same construction takes a different story: cranes, peonies, your own motif brought to the bench. Cut for men or women, to your measurements.
Asked before every commission.
Can it be made in my size?
Yes. Every commission is cut to your measurements, taken by guided video call or our measurement sheet. There is no size chart involved, and one round of fit alterations is included.
Can I change the colors or the fabric?
Yes. Ground color, embellishment palette and fabric are chosen with you before anything is cut, with options sourced from France, Italy and Japan.
What does it cost and how long does it take?
From $4,800, with delivered commissions typically $6,500 to $9,000 depending on handwork density, over 6 to 10 weeks. You receive a fixed quote within 48 hours, before any commitment.
